The "BAD MAN"

I can't stand when I am out and I hear a child being threatened by the "bad man".

"Don't be naughty the bad man will come and get you". WTF??

Well it happened to Egg, on Monday. He was playing with a till in a supermarket, and yes I was struggling to pack the bags and try to get him away from the till.

"Don't touch that or the man will come and get you".

Who the hell was that? Some busy body behind me in the line.

"We don't use that threat" I informed her "My son is not afraid of men".

Luckily Egg was ignoring her, well that is what I am telling myself.

"Oh, well the manager will give you into trouble" She then had the bloody cheek to ask the cashier if the manager was male or female.

"Male"

"Well there you go"

"Oh I am SOOOO sorry, how stupid of me! Quick Egg RUUUUUNNNN, the manager is a MAAAAN!!"

She continued to talk to Egg. "Do you go to school?"

"No!!"

"Yes you do" I said to him.

"Yes!!"

"Oh well does your teacher not tell you not to touch other peoples things?"

Ignored.

"Then your mum won't get so agitated!"

Piss off!! I am agitated because of you, and because this blinking supermarket doesn't have gates on the checkouts.

We just walked off, with no eye contact, no talking, nothing. I would have loved to have seen her face!

If Egg wasn't there oh the things I would have liked to have said. This always happens. Can't say what I want to say because Egg is with me, only have something I want to say because Egg is with me.

I wish so badly that I had said "I don't know if the teacher is teaching them not to touch other peoples stuff, but I hope they are teaching them NOT TO SPEAK TO STRANGERS, MALE OR FEMALE".

She really annoyed me, GRRRRR!!!!

Hello! I am a (OCD!!) mother of Egg (blog name, will explain later..). Oh by the way he is autistic.

I believe in parenting, not all this ABA working for 6 hours a day bla bla nonsense. If you believe that your kids autism was cause by the MMR or if you support the charities Autism Speaks or Generation Rescue, if Jennie McCarthy is your mom of the year, if you believe that your child is trapped inside an autistic shell, if you hate autism, if you feel your child needs a cure, if you feel autism has stolen your child, if when your child stims your hand raises to stop them this will not be the blog for you. You are entitled to your opinions, but this is my blog so bugger off. Lol.

If you love your child, support your child, respect you child, parent your child, promote independence, believe that the only thing that needs curing is ignorance, realise that perhaps it's the parents that needs to change(sometimes, lol) and last but not least make mistakes, have bad days, perhaps even find it hard to cope sometimes, then hi!!

Accepting parents do not have to be perfect parents; we just have a good attitude. Some of the "others" will feel that accepting parents cannot be bothered doing anything. Whilst they are busy taking down data (don't get me started..) they assume that we just sit on our backsides watching our kids stim the day away. Couldn't be more wrong.

I am not sure what this blog will be, if anything, but for now hello!!
